More than a free URL shortener
Per-click analytics on the free plan — country, device, browser and referrer — with no account needed to start.
Instant — no account needed
Paste your URL on the homepage and get a short link straight away. No sign-up, no credit card.
Analytics on every link
Every free short link tracks clicks — with country, device, browser, and referrer data. Included on the free plan, not an upgrade.
A QR code for every link
Every short link has its own QR code, and scans are tracked and marked apart from ordinary clicks.
Custom slugs
Choose your own short link path — like snu.to/my-brand. Custom slugs are free for every signed-in user; links made without an account get a random slug.
Expiry, passwords, on/off
Once you sign up, set a link to expire, ask visitors for a password, or switch it off and back on. A link with none of these keeps working until it reaches its plan's per-link click limit.
100 links free
The free plan includes 100 tracked short links and the REST API. No time limit. No credit card ever required.

Free URL shortener — FAQ
What is a free URL shortener?
A free URL shortener converts long, unwieldy URLs into short, shareable links at no cost. SendURL is a free URL shortener that also tracks every click — when it happened, which country it came from and what device was used.
Is SendURL really free?
Yes. The Free plan has no time limit and needs no credit card. It includes up to 100 tracked short links with per-click analytics (country, device, browser and referrer), a QR code for every link, custom slugs, link expiry, passwords and the REST API. Pro ($5 a month) raises the limits to 1,000 links and 30 days of analytics history.
How is SendURL different from other free URL shorteners?
SendURL gives you a short link plus per-click analytics on the free plan — data that Bitly and TinyURL keep for their paid plans. Every free link shows you when it was clicked, from which country, on which device, and from which referrer. Other shorteners do more in other areas, such as custom domains, which SendURL doesn't offer.
How short are SendURL's short links?
Random slugs are five or six letters and digits (five from the home page and the API, six proposed in the console), like snu.to/aB3x9. Signed-in users can also choose a custom slug (e.g. snu.to/my-brand) for free.
Do free short links expire?
Only if you want them to. A link keeps working until you set an expiry date or switch it off, or until it reaches its plan's per-link click limit (100,000 visits on Free).
Do I need to create an account to shorten a URL?
No. You can shorten a URL directly from the SendURL homepage without any account, and see its click count straight away. Create a free account to keep your links, see each click's details and manage up to 100 tracked short links.
