A creator link handover with clear placement and ownership
Give the creator an approved route, a precise placement and a useful fallback. Preserve distribution context without claiming that a shared link identifies the creator’s individual audience members.
A creator receives a campaign URL in a busy chat and pastes it into the wrong profile slot. Another creator trims the parameters from a long destination because the address looks untidy. A short handover can prevent both mistakes by making the public route, the promised page and the placement explicit.
Deliver one approved route per intended distinction
For an illustrative product guide collaboration, the creator’s profile and Story have different placement questions. If those questions matter to the report, create distinct saved routes. If the team only needs combined activity, document the deliberate reuse instead of later pretending the placements can be separated.

After-campaign maintenance owner:Test the placement the audience will use
Ask the reviewer to follow the real supported clickable surface after publication. A profile website field, a Story sticker and plain caption text behave differently. A shortener does not make a platform’s non-clickable caption into a clickable control or override its account restrictions.
Record the tested route and time. If the platform wraps the address, inspect the page reached from that actual surface. Keep the creator’s private account information and audience records out of a general link handover sheet.
Avoid a false attribution promise
A creator-specific route preserves the distribution label you assigned. It can still be forwarded or requested by preview services. Do not interpret each request as a separate follower or claim that the creator personally produced a sale unless the destination’s attribution system supplies the appropriate evidence.
Use UTMs on the approved destination where website attribution needs them. Keep the short address intact when handing it over; parameters added later to the short URL itself are not forwarded by SendURL to the stored destination.
Decide who can maintain the offer
If the campaign needs destination changes after publication, that requires Pro+. Compare destination editing and analytics history before the handover promises a reusable maintained route. On Free, select the destination carefully or plan a newly communicated address when the offer changes.
Create the campaign routes in an owned SendURL account, then give the creator the exact placement brief. For platform-specific steps, use the established Instagram, TikTok and social media placement guides rather than a generic promise that every post surface accepts links.
Frequently asked questions
Does a separate creator link prove who clicked it?
No. It records activity through the route assigned to that distribution context; forwarding and automated requests remain possible.
Can a creator remove the short URL’s parameters safely?
Provide the exact approved route and instructions. Do not encourage editing a distributed address without understanding what it encodes or marks.
Should the handover promise a clickable caption?
Only use a surface the platform actually supports. Shortening does not create a clickable control where none exists.
